News in Brief – October 2019

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the October edition of our News-in-Brief newsletter. The 14th IGeLU Conference was held in Singapore and hosted by Singapore Management University (SMU) and National Library Board of Singapore (NLB) ended on a successful note. The conference, held from August 27th to 29th, 2019 was full of informative and helpful presentations provided by our colleagues across the world.  If you missed a presentation or didn’t attend the conference, we are delighted to provide presentation materials available on our website to IGeLU members:  This page also includes a link to presentations provided by Ex Libris staff. Be sure to check those out too!

This News-in Brief newsletter contains our usual Chair’s Update by Dave Allen, an update about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and a call for participation and significant happenings from our various working groups. As always, if you have any questions or would like to share your ideas and opinions with those who work directly with Ex Libris for the community, then please do reach out to the Working Group Coordinator.  For a light touch, we also have an IGeLU Member’s spotlight featuring two of our members, with some funny anecdotes and delightful photos of Singapore.

We also recently established an Instagram account for IGeLU. Please visit us on Instagram and follow us. If you’re inclined to share your favorite photos from Singapore using hashtag #igelu2019, we’d love to see them!
