News In Brief – Aug 2017

Dear Readers,

D-day to the 12th IGeLU Annual Conference @ St.Petersburg is getting closer…..

In IGeLU tradition, every year, a Pre-conference News-in-Brief (NiB) is published in the last few weeks leading up to the Annual conference and this year is no different. This NiB provides a sneak peak of the various activities for IGeLU 2017 in September, which will be hosted by The National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg. The program planning committee has been hard at work to come up with an exciting line-up of product presentations, update sessions and social events that provide excellent opportunities for all members to network and learn from the best. A new mobile app is also being launched to help participants keep informed of the various tracks and to seek feedback. More information of the app can be found in the newsletter below.

The annual conference is also the time the Steering Committee hold its elections for positions of SC members finishing their appointed terms. This year there are a number of positions available, so don’t forget to check out Theo Engelman (Chair, Steering Committee) post on open positions here. For member institutions that will not be attending the conference this year, please take note of the Proxy voting available. More information on this is available here.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition of NiB which provides snippets from recent happenings and upcoming events in the IGeLU universe and we look forward to meeting you all in St. Petersburg soon.
